Trees and Fog, 2004. North Cascades National Park, Washington
This photograph was taken at a high elevation in the North Cascades mountains in Washington. A slow moving storm front was passing through, and the cold drizzle was continuous, barely slowing long enough for me to set up my tripod and 4x5 camera and shoot this image. I actually waited in the car for about four hours for a slowdown in the drizzle and the right mix of fog in the middle distance. I shot 3 exposures on 4x5 Kodak Tri-X film, and although the exposures were only seconds apart, the quickly changing fog made each image completely different.
