This photograph was taken during the last rays of sunlight for the day. With no time to spare, I quickly set up my 4x5 view camera and exposed one sheet of Kodak Ektachrome transparency film. I also took a quick shot with my 35mm Nikon N6006 SLR camera. Within a minute after making this exposure, the sunlight began to dim and the colors were no longer vibrant. As it was not a particularly good year for fall colors in the Northeast, this was one of the few places during my 1999 cross-country drive where the colors were in full glory. My other successfull photograph,
Autumn Road, East Orange, Vermont, was made on this same trip.
